Indias G20 Presidency: A Triumph in Diplomacy and Consensus Building

India's successful stewardship of the G20 presidency has solidified its position as a trusted friend and consensus builder on the global stage, declared External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Addressing a book launch event, Jaishankar highlighted India's remarkable achievement in producing a leaders declaration at the G20 Summit despite divisions over the Ukraine conflict.

Bridging Differences
Jaishankar alluded to the intense negotiations that took place in the final 48 hours leading up to the consensus, underscoring India's pivotal role in bridging differences and forging common ground. The book launch, titled "India and the Future of G20: Shaping Policies for a Better World," was organized by the National University of Singapore's Institute of South Asian Studies.

Jaishankar expressed pride in India's accomplishments during its G20 presidency, emphasizing its contributions to revitalizing multilateralism and fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to Africa.
A Notable Milestone
A significant milestone of India's G20 presidency was the inclusion of the 55-nation African Union (AU) as a permanent member of the grouping. This move underscored India's commitment to fostering closer ties with Africa and promoting the interests of the Global South.
