Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu Predicts India Will Be Top Economy by 2047 Under PM Modi's Leadership
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the importance of a double-engine government for Andhra Pradesh's progress. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that India could become the world's top economy by 2047 under his leadership. Speaking at Mydukur in Kadapa district, Naidu highlighted the significance of the 21 Lok Sabha seats won by the NDA in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu mentioned that Andhra Pradesh is financially struggling and relies on central government support. He noted that despite being a regional party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has always maintained a national perspective. "We also worked with the NDA earlier, between 2014 and 2019. I do not doubt that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India will become the number one or two economy by 2047, and my ambition is to see Telugu people in the number one position globally," he said.
Double-Engine Government and Development
The Chief Minister stressed that having governments at both state and central levels is crucial for achieving double-digit growth. He stated that the Centre has been supportive of various projects, including the Polavaram irrigation project and a package for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. "We assure you that the Polavaram irrigation project will be completed in the next two years. The central government has already allocated Rs 12,200 crore for Phase 1 of the project. Construction of the diaphragm wall has begun," he said.
Naidu also highlighted the need for interlinking rivers to boost development. He mentioned that the Godavari and Krishna rivers have already been connected, and efforts are underway to link the Godavari and Penna rivers. This initiative aims to enhance water resources management in the state.
Tribute to NT Rama Rao
Recalling TDP founder NT Rama Rao, Naidu praised some of his initiatives, such as reservations for women and backward communities in local body elections, which have become a model for others. These measures have significantly contributed to social empowerment and inclusivity in governance.
The Chief Minister launched the Swarna Andhra-Swach Andhra programme at Mydukur, urging citizens to actively participate in social service. "Let us all strive hard for clean Bharat which was the dream of Mahatma Gandhi. After the victory in the 2024 elections, we have decided to launch the Swachh Andhra Pradesh programme and I am happy that I am inaugurating it at Mydukur," he stated.
Swarna Andhra-Swach Andhra Initiative
The Swarna Andhra-Swach Andhra initiative is set to occur on every third Saturday of each month. During this event, Naidu honoured sanitary workers for their dedication and took an oath to maintain cleanliness in Andhra Pradesh. He encouraged everyone present to commit to keeping their surroundings clean as well.
Naidu's vision for Andhra Pradesh involves collaborative efforts between state and central governments to drive development. His initiatives aim to ensure economic growth while promoting social welfare through community participation and sustainable practices.
