India celebrates S Ramanujan's 127th birth anniversary as 'National Mathematics Day'
New Delhi, Dec 22: The 127th birth anniversary of India's Mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan is being celebrated as National Mathematics Day or Rashtriya Ganit Diwas on Dec, 22 Monday. Srinivasa Ramanujan is also known as Mathematics wizard of India.

The mathematical genius compiled more than 3900 mathematical results and equations. His Ramanujam Prime and Ramanujam theta discoveries had inspired further research on the subject.
Ramanujan and British Mathematician Hardy discovered the smallest number represented as sum of two cubes 1729 which came to be known as Hardy-Ramanujan number.
He died at an early age of 32.
