INDIA Bloc To Unveil Its Flag During Meeting In Mumbai

The leaders of the INDIA bloc are all set to unveil their flag in Mumbai during the two-day meeting beginning on August 31.

According to the media reports, the newly formed Opposition group is planning to adopt the tricolour without the Ashok Chakra as the flag of its alliance.

The parties of the INDIA bloc will contest elections in their respective states using their own symbols apart from the common flag of the united opposition.

Earlier in June the members of the INDIA bloc organised their first meeting in Patna followed by the second meeting that took place in Bengaluru in mid-July. The name of the group was decided at the Bengaluru Conclave.

The opposition will take out rallies nationwide in September after they unveil the flag in Mumbai. The rallies will comprise of six to seven key leaders, including chief ministers from non-BJP states.

Reportedly, the Opposition bloc would appoint a chairman, one chief coordinator, and four to five regional coordinators.

INDIA stands for the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. Earlier reports claimed that there were four names under consideration including 'Patriotic Democratic Alliance' or PDA.

The Opposition alliance has identified 450 parliamentary seats across the country except for Odisha, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

However, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, has demanded 40 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The issue will be addressed by the Opposition leaders during the meeting in Mumbai. The inclusion of some smaller parties INDIA bloc will also be discussed during the meeting.
