The upcoming meeting of the INDIA bloc, scheduled for December 17-20, will focus on finalizing seat-sharing agreements among its constituents. While the exact date is yet to be confirmed, sources indicate that the meeting will take place in the third week of December.

Urgent Need for Seat Sharing Decisions

Several parties within the INDIA bloc have been pushing for swift decisions on seat sharing in various states. This urgency stems from the need to provide candidates with sufficient time for campaigning and assessing the ground situation. A meeting of the floor leaders of INDIA parties was held on Wednesday at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's residence to discuss the parliamentary strategy for both Houses of Parliament.

TMC's Presence at Telangana CM's Swearing-In

On Thursday, TMC MP Derek O'Brien represented the INDIA bloc, alongside Congress, at the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. O'Brien attended the ceremony on behalf of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was personally invited by Reddy but could not attend due to prior commitments. Other notable attendees included the chief ministers of Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, Siddaramaiah and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, as well as Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Seat-Sharing Discussions at Opposition Leaders' Meeting

The issue of seat sharing was also raised by Trinamool Congress leaders during a meeting of opposition leaders held on Monday morning to strategize for the Winter Session of Parliament.

Previous INDIA Bloc Meetings

The last meeting of the INDIA bloc was held from August 31 to September 1. Additionally, a meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) was held in New Delhi on September 13.

As the INDIA bloc prepares for its upcoming meeting, the focus will be on reaching consensus on seat-sharing arrangements to ensure a coordinated and effective electoral strategy among its constituent parties.
