Independence Day 2023: Will India Celebrate 76th Or 77th Independence Day? Details Inside
A long-time debate following the controversial discussion on whether India celebrates the 76th or 77th Independence Day is a big question in the minds of people.

According to one theory, India celebrated its first anniversary of independence on August 15th, 1948, and hence, India celebrates its 76th anniversary. However, another theory states India achieved its freedom from British rule on August 15th, 1947, and this indicates India celebrates its 77th independence day.
Both theories are valid, but, since we consider the 1st Independence Day from 1947, the answer is simple: we will celebrate the 77th Independence Day in 2023.
Ahead of the independence day celebration, drones, paragliders, and other such "sub-conventional aerial platforms", including hang-gliders and hot air balloons, have been prohibited from flying in Delhi from July 22 till August 16 citing security reasons.
The Delhi Police commissioner has restricted the flying of such aerial platforms over the jurisdiction of the national capital on the occasion of Independence Day and doing so shall be punishable under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), it said.
Like every year, Prime Minister hosts a parade with all the pride of India and achievements that are yet remarkable. The parade ends with hoisting the flag and singing the National Anthem.
The day that brought glory and freedom to the citizen of India is indeed auspicious. Celebrating it as a national festival to honor lives and sacrifices is indeed a feeling of pride. Hoisting our tri-color flag with saffron on the top, white in the middle with the Ashoka Chakra, and green at the bottom gives goosebumps to every Indian.
