New Delhi, Sept 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took a ride in Delhi Metro and inaugurated a line connecting Badarpur here and Faridabad in Haryana.

He took the ride between Janpath and Bata Chowk stations and interacted with co-passengers in the metro. Prime Minister also allowed his fellow commuters to take selfies.

Modi was slated to address a public meeting after inaugurating the metro corridor.

The Rs.2,900 crore project, an extension of the violet line between the ITO and Badarpur Metro stations, will have nine stations - Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar.

About 1.95 lakh passengers are expected to use the new corridor every day by the year-end.
