Varanasi, March 25: AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal today announced that he would contest the elections from Varanasi against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal said: "I accept the challenge and will contest against Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections."

Kejriwal's journey to Varanasi however was anything but smooth. Protests broke out on the streets of Varanasi ahead of his road show and he was attacked with egg and black ink.

Before starting his campaign in Varanasi, Kejriwal took a dip in the Ganges and visited the Tulsi Ghat.
