In dummy Vice Presidential poll, 15 NDA lawmakers cast invalid vote
During the presidential poll, 77 votes in total were declared invalid.
On Friday, a dummy poll was conducted by the NDA to ensure that there are no invalid votes during the Vice President elections being held today. 16 lawmakers of the NDA got it wrong and their votes were declared invalid.

The 16 lawmakers got it wrong despite the BJP holding a workshop before the dummy exercise to go over the entire voting process.
The invalid voting obviously upset, BJP chief Amit Shah. He told them to go over the process again and not make a mistake in the poll to be held on Saturday. Shah wondered how lawmakers could make a mistake in a process as simple as this. It is no rocket science, said senior BJP leader Bhupender Yadav who once again demonstrated the correct way to vote.
During the presidential poll, 77 votes in total were declared invalid. Of these, 21 were of MPs from various parties, including many from the NDA. Both Modi and Shah had asked BJP members to vote correctly so their ballots do not go waste.
