President of the United States Joe Biden performed a Holy Communion service in India prior to the G20 Summit. Father Nicholas Dias the Secretary for Liturgy Commission for the Delhi Archdiocese organised the Holy prayers at the ITC Maurya Hotel in New Delhi.

Fr Nicholas Dias who hails from Goa in a brief conversation with the Indian Express told that a few days back he received a mail from the US Embassy stating that the US President has requested for a Communion Service in India before the G20 Summit.
Responding to the mail, he arranged the Communion Service at the ITC Maurya at 9 AM on Saturday. President Biden performed the prayers with the Goa priest and his US delegation.
Father Dias further said that the US President wanted to organise a special prayer before the summit to pray for the participants as well as for the success of the Summit and for the global issues.
"President Biden was clear that he wanted to begin his two-day G20 engagements at Bharat Mandapam with the Holy Eucharist and a prayer. Together, we prayed for the participants as well as for the success of the Summit and for the global issues that were to be discussed," Fr Dias was quoted saying to Indian Express.
For the last few days, White House officials were continuously ensuring that President Biden's request for a prayer service could be fulfilled before the Summit began.
What is Holy Communion?
Communion is a sacred worship for God, where devotees remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross by commemorating the Lord's death through prayer and meditation.
