In appointment of chief ministers, Modi takes a cue from himself
Modi has often shown that he is not afraid to experiment.
In the appointment of chief ministers, Narendra Modi appears to be taking a cue from himself. In Uttar Pradesh, it is almost certain that Manoj Sinha will be made the chief minister. Modi has sprung many such surprises in the past, as well in the appointment of chief ministers in Haryana and Uttarkhand.

Modi has shown that he is not afraid to experiment. Names that are never in circulation in the media often are chosen as chief ministers. A source from the Prime Minister's Office said that the PM likes to keep everyone guessing and often breaks convention. Sinha is from the Bhumilar caste. This caste does not have a big presence in Uttar Pradesh.
This factor, in fact, worked in his favour and with the Bharatiya Janata Party wanting a neutral candidate, Sinha became the obvious choice. This is very similar to how Modi became the chief minister of Gujarat. His name cropped out of nowhere and he was sent to Gujarat. His own caste has a very negligible presence in Gujarat. However, that did not matter and he went on to win one election after another.
Modi's supporters say that the man believes in delivery and this is clear in his appointments as well. He is not scared to take risks and also experiment. He always breaks convention and feels that this is the real path to success.
