Immigration alert issued against Tarun Tejpal, can't leave country
Panaji, Nov 26: As a "precautionary" measure, all immigration posts have been alerted to prevent Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal from leaving the country, an official said Tuesday.
"He should inform us in case he is leaving the country," Goa Police Deputy Inspector General of Police O.P. Mishra told a press conference here.
Tejpal's junior, the woman reporter, in Tehelka is fully cooperating with us, Mishra said, adding that a formal statement was also being recorded by the Goa Police team which has travelled to meet her.
The young woman journalist has accused Tarun Tejpal of sexually assaulting her in a Goa hotel.
Earlier during the day, Tejpal's bail plea was rejected by the court.
