IMD Rainfall Alert: Rains And Thunderstorms Warning In These States, Check Forecast Here
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted severe heatwave conditions in various parts of the country till May 5. These include Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Gujarat, some parts of Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. Also, light rains are expected in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh over the next five days.

Heatwave alert
- Severe heatwave conditions in parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar from May 3 to May 5.
- Heatwave conditions in isolated parts of Telangana, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Gujarat, and Odisha over the next four days. This includes Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada on May 3 and May 4; Vidarbha on May 4 and May 5; and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on May 3 and May 4. Southern Rajasthan is expected to experience heatwave conditions over the weekend.
- Humid weather is likely in coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe during most days of the week. Konkan may experience this on May 5, 2024.

- Fairly widespread, light to moderate rains accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and breezes (40-50 kmph) over various northeastern states from May 2 to May 8.
- Isolated heavy rain is expected over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on May 5 and May 6. Sikkim may experience this over the weekend.
- Isolated to scattered light to moderate rain/snowfall with lightning is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh from May 3 to May 6.
- Isolated extremely light/light rains are expected over West Uttar Pradesh from May 5 to May 8; Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi on May 4 and May 5; and Punjab and West Rajasthan on May 5.
- Isolated hailstorms are possible in Odisha. Additionally, isolated to scattered showers with thunderstorms and lightning are expected over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe from May 3 to May 8, and over Telangana and Karnataka from May 6 to May 8.
