He further added that parts of north interior Karnataka are also expected to witness heavy rainfall.

This warning comes after Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall on Monday evening. The financial capital experienced 50 mm rain over a 24-hour period ending on Tuesday morning, though there were no major incidents of water-logging reported.

The IMD's forecast extends to other regions, predicting "fairly widespread to light to moderate rainfall" with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next seven days.

"Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh during June 10 to 14; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on June 10, 13, and 14. Isolated to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim from June 11 to 14, and Arunachal Pradesh on June 13 and 14," the weatherman said.

Additionally, similar weather conditions with isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall are expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha from July 12 to 14, and in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh over the next five days.

Furthermore, the IMD has warned of isolated hailstorms and squally winds in south Madhya Pradesh on June 11.
