Uttarakhand Police Uncover Illicit Liquor Factory in Nainital, Arrest One Suspect

A joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand Police and the Excise Department uncovered an illegal liquor factory in Mukhani, Nainital district. The raid led to the arrest of one individual. Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar reported that a substantial amount of illicit liquor, along with chemicals, raw materials, and equipment, was seized from the premises.

The factory had been operating from a rented house for a month, producing liquor supplied to the Haldwani area. Chemicals and other materials for manufacturing were sourced from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. The main suspect, Vishal Mandal, a resident of Lalkuan in Nainital district, has been apprehended. He already faces several charges with the Uttarakhand Police and Excise Department.

Illegal Liquor Operations

The raid was conducted after receiving a tip-off, resulting in Mandal being caught in the act of preparing illicit liquor branded as Bajpur Gulab Malta. Bhullar mentioned that locals were unaware of the factory's existence. The produced liquor was distributed to restaurants and hotels in Haldwani.

Authorities have also gathered crucial information about an individual from Uttar Pradesh involved in supplying raw materials for the illegal liquor production. The official stated that action would be taken against this person as well. Mandal is already facing six cases related to making and smuggling illicit liquor at police stations in Kathgodam, Haldwani, and Lalkuan, as well as with the Excise Department of Nainital district.

The discovery of this illegal operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illicit activities in the region. The STF's actions demonstrate their commitment to tackling such issues effectively.
