Illegal Construction at Haridwar Mosque Demolished Following Protests and Complaints

Officials reported that authorities dismantled an unlawful structure at a mosque in Laksar tehsil on Thursday. The construction was taking place on public land, which was not permitted. Laksar Tehsildar Pratap Singh Chauhan confirmed that the illegal building activity has now been halted and removed.

The Hindu Jagran Manch had previously protested against the mosque's construction activities. They lodged a complaint with the sub-district magistrate of Laksar, prompting an investigation. The inquiry revealed that the construction lacked legal approval.

Illegal Construction and Administrative Actions

Chauhan stated that despite being instructed to cease construction, the builders continued their work. The builders claimed to have necessary permissions but failed to provide any documentation to support their claim. Consequently, the administration proceeded with demolishing the structure under police supervision.

Jot Singh Pundir, president of the Laksar unit of Hindu Jagran Manch, mentioned a similar incident from a few years ago. He recalled that a community had constructed illegally on railway land, which was later dismantled following a High Court order. He alleged that after being removed from railway land, they began unauthorized construction in Laksar.

The administration's decisive action reflects its commitment to uphold legal norms and prevent unauthorized use of public land. Such measures are crucial in maintaining order and ensuring compliance with regulations.
