IIM Indore: Wall Collapse due to heavy rains claim 3 lives
Indore, Aug 5: Three people including a woman and two minor boys were feared dead in a wall collapse incident in the Indian Institute of Management- Indore, on Wednesday, Aug 5 in Madhya Pradesh.
A portion of the boundary wall collapsed due to heavy rains, killing a woman and two other minor boys in Pigamdambar area, Kishanganj Police Station in-charge, Rakesh Modi said.
The deceased, who were relatives, have been identified as Seema (40), Lucky (12) and Kalu (16), he said, adding, investigations are underway.
The hut was constructed possibly by encroaching land adjacent to IIM Indore's boundary wall, the police official said.
Sources inside the IIM Indore said, "due to heavy rains, construction wall collapsed overnight - 3 workers in a Tea Stall feared killed."
"No Member of IIM Indore Community involved in the accident. The structure which has collapsed was unauthorized", IIM Indore said in a statement.
"The institute (IIM Indore) had requested the administration multiple times to clear the unauthorized structure", it said.
