'If court convicts you?' asks Rijiju as Kejriwal vows to sue CBI, ED

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal threatened to sue ED and CBI for "presenting false evidence in courts," Union Minister of Law & Justice Kiren Rijiju has asked him whether the AAP leader will also file a case against the court, if the court convicts him.

In a tweet on Saturday, the Minister wrote, "Forgot to mention that you will file case against Hon'ble court also, if it convicts you. Let law take its own course & we must believe in rule of law."

The Delhi CM has been summoned by the CBI to appear before it on Sunday in a case related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. He has been asked to be present at the CBI headquarters on April 16 at 11 am and answer some of the questions regarding the investigation into the scam.

Addressing a press conference earlier in the day, Kejriwal had said that he will sue the CBI and ED officials for filing false affidavits in courts to target AAP leaders. "We will file appropriate cases against CBI and ED officials for perjury and producing false evidence in courts," Kejriwal tweeted.

Earlier, CM Kejriwal had said the ED has claimed that Manish Sisodia destroyed 14 phones. Out of these, four mobile phones are with the ED and one with the CBI. Other phones are with the party volunteers. The probing agencies know about these phones. But, they are misleading the court by filing false affidavits," he alleged.

Kejriwal further alleged that the agencies, acting at the behest of a party torturing people to get false confessions. "People are being forced to falsely imply me and Manish Sisodia. Arrested people are mentally tortured by the agencies. They are using third-degree, mental harassment and physical torture to take out false statements."

Meanwhile, the AAP government in Delhi has called a special session of the assembly on Monday to discuss the CBI's summons to the Chief Minister in the excise case.
