In addition to attacks, the Pakistan backed agencies have also planned to carry out a misinformation campaign. The agencies are currently tracing 500 mobile phones which have been asked to spread misinformation.

These persons are running campaign called 'StopG20Meetings.'

Sources said that these groups would look to step up attacks as Pakistan has been sidelined on international platforms. Furthermore Pakistan is undergoing a crisis and this would be a perfect diversionary tactic, the IB official also said. There are around 600 social media accounts that have been created to spread misinformation, the source also added. There are anti-India campaigns that are being run through these handles, the sources also said.

These handles have also been running campaigns which oppose the Citizen Amendment Act, NRC, UAPA and the National Security Act.

Pakistan has also been propagating issues such as Love Jihad. Further the Pakistan backed groups also are creating hatred amongst the Sikh community against India, the IB official also said. In this regard it had activated the K-2 Desk, which focuses on violence in both Kashmir and Punjab.
