Experts have hinted on a cut off of 65 -70 for general category students with a differential of about 5 marks for reserved categories. These numbers have been derived at by calculating the number of questions attempted by candidates and after excluding the canceled questions. Some experts feel that the expected cut off may dip to 60 out of 96 for general category students.

Many students who have appeared have shared that at maximum students have attempted about 75 questions. Some have even hinted that because of time constraint, which was the case with many centers, students were barely able to attempt about 70 - 75 questions. If the consideration must be given to the negative marks, many are confident that the cut off would be about 55 - 60 on the higher side.
As to the actual declaration of the IB ACIO Tier I results, there is still time. The results are not expected to be released before December 2017. As candidates get busy calculating their chances of clearing the examination, the experts believe that they would be better off preparing for the Tier II examination scheduled for January.
