IAS officer's death: Former Minister Suresh Kumar on indefinite protest; CID to begin probe
Bengaluru, March 17: Former law and parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Kumar has said that he would sit inside the Vidhan Soudha starting tonight to demand a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.
Kumar informed that the BJP had been demanding a CBI probe into the mysterious death of the officer but the state government was not listening.

The Chief Minister made it clear a fair and thorough probe would be undertaken and did not find the need to hand over the matter to the CBI.
Kumar, however, made it clear that he would sit inside the Vidhan Soudha starting tonight and would end the dharna only once the CBI takes over the probe.
CID to probe:
The state government on the other hand has directed the Criminal Investigation Department or the CID to handle the probe. A government order to this effect is being issued and it is felt that a specialised agency such as the CID should probe the case.
The CID would start the probe once the official order is issued. It is expected to be issued anytime today or early tomorrow. Currently the Bengaluru police under DCP Rohini is probing the matter.
The police are still waiting to speak with the family members. For now the entire state machinery has said that prima facie it is a case of suicide. Home Minister K George told the media earlier that it appears to be a case of suicide.
