Speaking to the advocate representing the state government, tThe judge was quoted as saying, "The mobile phone and the documents are in your custody."

"The interim report was kept in a sealed cover. The government is the custodian of the report. But the contents of the messages, both SMS and WhatsApp, were shown word for word in local channels when I accidentally tuned in to some local channels. How did the media get these messages kept in your custody? Who leaked it?" he asked.

However, the representative of the government claimed that all messages were leaked by some third party and he also claimed that the government should be allowed to disclose the probe findings in DK Ravi's death.

35-year-old Ravi, a 2009-batch IAS officer, was found dead at his official residence in South Bengaluru on March 16. Initailly, it was claimed that he committed suicide due to some personal reasons.

However, Ravi's family members, Opposition leaders, and aam aadmi (common man) held massive protest in Bengaluru and other parts of the state. They claimed that Ravi had become a victim of being an honest officer.

Finally, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was forced to hand over the case from CID to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
