IAS officer DK Ravi’s death: It is an electronic suicide note
Bengaluru, March 20: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is treating the last sent message as a suicide note in the case relating to the death of IAS officer DK Ravi.
A lengthy message which reads, 'we will unite in heaven,' among other details was found on his phone and this is the basis on which the police are almost concluding that it is an open and shut case of suicide.

Sources in the CID informed Oneindia that the message will be an electronic suicide note and will be used as evidence in the case.
Further the officer also informed that they are not booking the case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code dealing with murder but will go with Section 174 of the Criminal Procedural Code which deals with mysterious death or death under mysterious circumstances.
State will hand over probe to CBI:
Meanwhile, the state government will hand over the case to the CBI once a preliminary report of the CID is out.
Sources in the CID said that there is intimation of the CBI being roped into the probe.
The government will inform the speaker of the Karnataka legislative assembly and seek his approval before handing over the probe to the CBI, sources also informed.
The Congress government has been under immense pressure to hand over the case to the CBI. just a while ago Sonia Gandhi too stated that she advises Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah to hand over the probe to the CBI.
