I will not link my phone with Aadhaar: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said she would not link her Aadhaar with phone. She accused the Union government of "autocratic" rule and said her party will "have to play a role so that BJP is removed from power" at the centre.
Challenging the the government over Aaadhaar, Banerjee said, "I will not link Aadhaar with phone, if they want to disconnect my phone, let them."
The Department of Telecom (DoT) had through a March 23 notification called for linking of mobile numbers with Aadhaar. Banerjee said that the TMC does not want to be in power in Delhi but "we have to play a role so that BJP is removed from power at the Centre".
Also, she announced that Trinamool Congress will observe 8th November as 'Black Day' and conduct rallies throughout the state carrying black flags.
On 8 November 2016, the Government of India announced the demonetisation, commonly called 'notebandi', of all ₹500 and ₹1,000 banknotes of the Mahatma Gandhi Series. The government claimed that the action would curtail the shadow economy and crack down on the use of illicit and counterfeit cash to fund illegal activity and terrorism.
