In what could be his last address at the Lok Sabha, newly appointed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mocked the Congress and the Samajwadi Party alliance in the state. Adityanath said he sneaked between Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to topple their tie-up.

Adityanath, who dedicated much of his speech in praising the prime minister, branded Modi as an icon. He said that Modi worked for betterment of the poor and the farmers without any discrimination.
"We will work for development of all sections and castes We will work for development of all sections and castes and create a new structure of progress," said Adityanath in the Lok Sabha where he is still a member.
"PM Modi has set up credible government. The UP govt will work on principles set by PM Modi," he added.
He slammed the former SP-led government in Uttar Pradesh for not utilising the funds allocated for the state for development.
"My govt will be for everyone, not specifically for any My govt will be for everyone, not specifically for any caste or community," he said.
On Tuesday morning, Adityanath met Prime Minister Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and President Pranab Mukherjee.
He took oath as UP CM on Sunday, days after BJP won 325 out of 403 seats in the politically most signioficant state in India.
