"I am being framed", says schoolgirl accused of stabbing class 1 student
The 12-year-old girl, accused of stabbing a Class 1 student of her school in Lucknow, on Monday said that she is being framed in the case, adding that she has never faced the victim before.
The accused girl was on Friday released on interim bail. She was granted bail till January 30, after being presented before the Juvenile Justice Board.
"There had been some arguments between some teachers, my father and me. I suspect that is a reason I am being framed..The child and I never faced each other. A photo of mine was produced before him. I was told by the school mgmt that he has identified me. I have been with short hair since November but they say he identified me in my old pictures," she told news agency ANI on Monday.
The girl had allegedly stabbed the six-year-old on Tuesday in the school toilet. The victim, six-year-old Hrithik Sharma, told his parents that the girl took him inside a bathroom and attacked him.
"I want the case to be investigated thoroughly and the real culprit be punished. If I am innocent I must be allowed to walk free. I know I am innocent," she said today.
The accused girl's behaviour in the past seems to suggest that she might have some psychological issues. She had reportedly fled home twice last year. A staff member of the girl's school claimed the girl was not good in her studies and often used to miss classes.
