Hyderabad: Woman student axed, assailant drinks poison

, Oct 13: In a horrifying incident in Hyderabad, a woman college student was attacked with an axe by a man who then drank poison. The engineering student was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries, while the man died in the hospital.

The attack took place at the Aurora's Engineering College in Hyderabad.

The student Ravali was assaulted at the entrance of the college where she had joined just 20 days ago. The assaulter is reported to be a student from another college.

Srilatha, the principal of the college said,"In front of all our college students, bus drivers, and security guards, an unknown person came of all a sudden and attacked our B Tech 1st year student. By the time we came to know he had attacked her, she was grievously injured and as soon as he attacked her, he consumed poison. Our faculty tried to stop him but couldn't."

Both the students were then rushed to two different hospitals. Srilatha further said that Ravali testified in the hospital that the man had been stalking her for 2 years and that she had made multiple police complaints against him.
