A businesswoman in Hyderabad was arrested for allegedly stalking and kidnapping a TV music channel anchor. She had been tracking his movements using a device installed on his car and had contacted him through an instant messaging app.
In a shocking incident, a businesswoman in Hyderabad was arrested for allegedly stalking and later kidnapping a TV music channel anchor with the intention of marrying him. The woman, identified as a 31-year-old digital marketing business owner, became infatuated with the anchor after seeing his photos on a matrimony website.
Tracking and Obsession

The woman's obsession began when she saw the anchor's photos on the matrimony website and started chatting with the account holder two years ago. However, she later realized that the account holder was using the anchor's photo as a profile picture instead of his own. Determined to connect with the anchor, she searched through the profile and found his phone number.
Despite the anchor informing her that someone had created a fake account using his photo and that he had filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police station, the woman persisted in sending him messages. When the anchor blocked her number, her determination to marry him only intensified, leading her to plan his kidnapping.
Kidnapping and Rescue
In a desperate attempt to win the anchor's affection, the woman hired four men to kidnap him. On February 11, the hired men abducted the anchor and took him to the woman's office, where he was severely beaten. Fearing for his life, the anchor agreed to respond to the woman's calls, and only then was he released.
The anchor, shaken by the ordeal, lodged a complaint with the Uppal police station, and a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including kidnapping, wrongful restraint, and wrongful confinement.
Arrests and Investigation
Through the course of their investigation, the police apprehended the accused woman along with the four men she had hired to carry out the abduction. Further investigation is ongoing to uncover any additional details and motives behind this bizarre case.
This incident serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of online interactions and the importance of protecting personal information. It also highlights the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such stalking and harassment cases.
