TRS calls bandh on December 5

Hyderabad, Dec 3: Unhappy with the Centre's move to merge the proposed Telangana with a few districts from the Rayalseema, K chandrashekhar Rao, the chief of Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) has called a state band on December 5.

Rao said that he was not happy with the decision of Congress party President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He further added that he and his party members would never accept such a statehood.

According to Congress party leaders, the proposed Rayala Telangana state will include 12 districts. Kurnool and Anantapur districts from the Rayalaseema region may also be included.

Rao further said that a GoM will discuss the matter and may recommend Rayala Telangana. Sushilkumar Shinde, the home minister, has informed off the record that the proposal is being discussed.

The GoM who were supposed to take the decision today has not been able to arrive at a decision and will take up the issue tomorrow.

Even Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has informally confirmed to reporters that the proposal was on the table.
