(Pics) Hyderabad: PG student gang-raped by friends in men's hostel

, Nov 3: A 23-year old postgraduate student of the English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) was gangraped by two friends, including a fellow student, in the men's hostel campus on Friday night.

Police arrested the two culprits. The daughter of an Indian diplomat and a native of Delhi, the student lodged a complaint at the Osmania University police at 2 am on Sunday, saying that she was raped by two people at the Basheer Men's Hostel on October 31. The two accused have been identified as Nitin Solasamudram, 21, a native of Hindupur in Anantapur, and K Raj Simha, 24, a native of Malkipuram in Razole mandal of East Godavari district.

Nitin is a fellow student of the girl and the incident took place in his room. Raj Simha, however was an ex-student of EFLU and Nitin's friend. Meanwhile, narrating her ordeal, the girl said that she had gone to the hostel at 10 pm to call on her friend. But he was not there. While returning, she met the duo at the hostel corridor when they invited her for a party in their room.

Being an acquaintance to Nitin, the girl accepted the invitation. In her complaint, the girl said that she was raped when she was in an intoxicated state. When she woke up in Nitin's room at 10 am next day morning, she realised something was amiss. When she called Nitin to ask what had happened the previous night, he evaded questions. The girl, accompanied by her friends confronted Nitin when he confessed of the crime.

Following this, a case was registered against the two of them.
