Meanwhile, ten people were killed as heavy rains lashed Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, officials said.

While five people were killed in various rain-related incidents in Telangana, an equal number of deaths were reported from Andhra Pradesh.

Also, thousands of quintals of paddy and other agriculture produce brought to market yards by farmers were damaged in the rain causing severe losses to them.

Several districts of both the Telugu states were receiving rains since morning. Lightning claimed four lives in Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts.

According to the Skymet weather, these rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal. A trough is also running from this circulation till Tamil Nadu across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

As per weathermen, these pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers are likely to subside after 48 hours but on and off rains and thundershowers would continue.

Meanwhile, the IMD on Thursday had issued a warning that thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places across the state on Friday. Temperatures fell down drastically on Thursday but are expected to increase in the next 1-2 days
