Hybrid terrorist Imran Bashir gunned down in J-K's Shopian
New Delhi, Oct 19: A hybrid terrorist named Imran Bashir Ganaie, who was arrested following the death of two labourers of Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj on Tuesday in a grenade blast in Shopian, was killed in an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir, said Kashmir Zone Police on Wednesday.

In the Nowgam area of Shopian, the encounter started between terrorists and security forces after 78 hours of civilian killings in the district. The Shopian encounter reportedly is very close to the site where a Kashmiri Pandit was shot at, according to an India Today report.

In a tweet, the Kashmir Zone Police said early morning, "Based on disclosure of arrested hybrid terrorist and in continuous raids by police & security forces, another contact has been established between terrorists & Security Forces at Nowgam Shopian, in which hybrid terrorist namely Imran Bashir Ganaie killed by firing of another terrorist."
In another tweet, the police said, "Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition has been recovered from the hideout/site of contact. Search still going on."
Hybrid terrorist are those who are not listed as ultras but radicalised enough to carry out a terror strike and then slip back into routine life.
