Human sacrifice: Bhatinda woman kills own grandchildren to ‘ward off evil spirits ‘
The woman sacrificed her own grandchildren with the help of her son to free themselves from 'evil spirits'.
In an extremely distressing incident, two children in Bathinda in Punjab were allegedly electrocuted to 'ward off evil' by their father and grandmother on Wednesday.
The children -- a three-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy -- were beaten with hot tongs, and after they fell unconscious, Nirmal Kaur, the grandmother, asked the children's father to give them electric shocks to 'bring them back to life'. She also asked him to put electric bulbs in the mouths of the children.

The children's mother was locked in a room to prevent her from interfering.
Apparently the sacrifices were to achieve a level of 'tantra'. The accused have been arrested for practicing witchcraft.
