How to Check your EPF Balance through SMS

    EPF balance is the amount that is there in your EPF Account. EPF balance consists of the amount deducted every month from your salary plus the amount that is contributed to your EPF account by your employer. Knowing the status of EPF balance can be a good indicator of your retirement savings and is also important when you need to withdraw the partial amount.

    How to Check your EPF Balance through SMS | PF Balance Check Via SMS

    EPF balance can be checked via EPFO Portal online. But at the same time, you can also check PF balance through SMS facility desperately if you have access to mobile, and know how to use the smartphone and M-epf app.

    This SMS based UAN activation facility is available to those who have UAN (Universal Account Number) and have registered their mobile number during UAN activation. The Member should use the UAN Registered mobile number in order to get the EPF balance via SMS.

    How to check EPF balance with SMS

    Here are the steps on how to check your EPF balance through SMS

    1. Send SMS to 7738299899 using the UAN registered Mobile number.

    2. The format of the message should be; EPFOHO UAN . Here LAN refers to first three letters of the preferred language. If it is English, you can send SMS as EPFOHO UAN .

    3. You can receive the balance in different languages. Currently, EPFO provides an option to receive SMS in 10 languages. Following are the allowed languages to receive SMS:

    • English: ENG
    • Hindi: HIN
    • Malayalam: MAL
    • Telugu: TEL
    • Punjabi: PUN
    • Gujarati: GUJ
    • Marathi: MAR
    • Kannada: KAN
    • Tamil: TAM
    • Bengali: BEN

    4. Once you send the message, EPFO will send you the member details available as well as details of the KYC, last contribution, along with the total EPF balance.

    What to do If I don't receive any SMS?

    Remember that you may not receive the message in the case that your Aadhaar, PAN and bank account were digitally approved and provided by the employer. Therefore if you do not receive the SMS then contact your current employer immediately. For further assistance with UAN/KYC queries, members may contact EPFO Toll-Free No. 1800118005 from 09:15 AM to 05:45 PM on all seven days.
