The Bharat Number Plate or the BH number plate is an initiative by the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways (MoRTH) to simplify the vehicle registration process for individuals who frequently relocate from one Indian state to another, like soldiers, government employees, or any Indian national who is working with a firm having offices in more than 4 states. This number plate is valid throughout the country and does not come with any state restricts.

With state registration, you will be allowed to stay in other states for only 12 months, and you have to take back the vehicle back to registered state after the completion of allowed time. Else you need to re-register your vehicle. While on the other hand, there is no need for re-registration for the BH number plate and it is valid throughout the country. This saves time, money, and effort to complete paperwork.

How To Apply For BH Series Number Plate:

Follow these simple steps to register yourself for Bharat Number Plate or BH Number Plate:

1. Apply for a Bharat Number Plate (BH series) via the MoRTH's Vahan portal or through your dealer.
2. Dealers complete Form 20 on the Vahan portal for you.
3. Private sector employees submit Form 60 and an employee ID card.
4. Select the "BH" series and pay the necessary fees online.
5. RTO verifies eligibility and approves the BH series number plate.
