How Rs 20 Saved A Couple From Getting Robbed In Delhi

In a strange incident, two men try to rob a couple in Delhi but change their hearts after realising that they just had Rs 20 and artificial jewellery. The incident occurred on June 21 night.

The incident was caught on CCTV footage which helped the cops to nab the two men. In the clip, which has now gone viral, they are seen stopping the couple in the middle of the road.

Apparently, the bike-borne men, who covered their faces with helmets, are asking the couple for money. As they could not find any valuables, one among the two reportedly handed over Rs 100 note to the man before escaping from the spot.

"Both the robbers had consumed a lot of alcohol at the time of the incident. After examining the CCTV footage, it was found that these robbers had created panic in many areas. We have recovered the pistol," DCP Shahdara, Rohit Meena said.

The cops recovered 30 mobiles and a scooter from the two men.

The DCP further said, "Apart from this, the scooter used in the crime and 30 mobile phones have also been recovered from them. We have registered a case against them and further investigation is underway."

How The Cops Arrested The Duo?
The cops flung into action after receiving three calls from different individuals. The first call was about attempted jewellery snatching from a couple, the second about mobile phone snatching whole the third caller informed the police that there was an attempted robbery by threatening them with a pistol.

The cops took the help of approximately 200 CCTV footage to identify the movements of the culprits.

The two have been identified as Dev Verma and Harsh Rajput. The police said that Harsh, an employee at a mobile repair shop, had a previous record of engaging in criminal activities.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the second suspect, Dev Verma, aged 31 and residing in Burari, had close affiliations with the notorious Neeraj Bawania gang, which heavily influenced his involvement in criminal behaviour.
