Housewife, daughter injured in acid attack

Alipurduar (WB), Mar 13: A housewife and her school going daughter were injured in acid attack while sleeping at their home at Dakshin Barobhisa in Alipurduar district last midnight.

The husband of the woman Biplab Das lodged a complaint with the police at local police station that an undentified man hurled the acid bulb at his wife and daughter, student of class seven, when they were asleep at their home under Kumargram block and no arrest has been made even after 20 hours.

A police officer confirmed having received the complaint. Attending doctors at Alipurduar District Hospital said one side of face, part of neck and back side of the woman was burnt while the girl suffered partial burn injuries. The doctors said condition of the woman was serious.
