Hotstar down? Netizens flood Twitter with funny memes

The Hotstar website and app are reportedly down across the country.

Leading streaming website Hotstar is reportedly down for users in India as several netizens complained over the website and app not working for them.

According to Downdetector, which tracks outage of social media services, users from Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chandigarh have experienced the outage during the second test match between India and Australia.

However, the app and website are not working in other countries as well.

"We are aware of the technical issue impacting Disney+ Hotstar at the moment and we sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience. We are working to resolve it quickly and in the meantime, we suggest you to restart the application/browser and try once again," Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia Help tweeted while responding to a user's complaint.

"Hotstar down kya??? Thought it was network problem Un-installed and then re installed Still not working Anyone else facing this issue? #Hotstar #INDvsAUS @DisneyPlus," A netizen on Twitter complained about the outage.

Another user claimed that he uninstalled the app and reinstalled it to check whether it was working fine. "#hotstar down, abhi to 2nd episode chal he rha tha #TheNightManager ka.
@DisneyPlusHS kuch kiya jae is k bare may. damn I uninstalled and installed again,now forgot which number I was logged in," he wrote.

Especially, many users, who were watching the cricket match between India and Australia, are unhappy with the development. The second test match is played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. By the time this story went for publishing, the visitors had lost six wickets for 199 runs with R Ashwin picking three wickets.

Netizens took Twitter to add humour to the outage by flooding funny memes and comments on Twitter. "The major highlights of the day is Hotstar. It is down not because of any server issue. It's just because they didn't renew their domain 😂 So the auto-debit 'mandate' is myth not just for some wordpress website but for the premium website like #Hotstar," a user said.
