Horror In the Hills: Child Falls From Zipline In Manali, Video Goes Viral
Trisha Bijwe, a 12-year-old girl from Nagpur, sustained serious injuries after falling nearly 30 feet into a gorge when the rope of her zipline harness snapped mid-air in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The accident took place on June 8, 2025, while she was holidaying with her family.
The terrifying incident occurred as Trisha was midway through the zipline ride when the supporting cable abruptly broke, sending her plunging onto rocks below. A video capturing the horrifying moment quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread shock and concern.

Trisha suffered multiple fractures, primarily to her legs, and underwent surgery days after the fall. She was initially admitted to a hospital in Manali before being transferred to Chandigarh for further treatment. Her father, Prafull Bijwe, confirmed that her condition has since stabilised.
The Bijwe family has alleged gross negligence on the part of the zipline operators, claiming they failed to implement basic safety protocols and did not provide prompt medical assistance after the accident.
This is why adventure sports aren’t safe in India. In Manali, a young girl fell from a zipline—nearly 30 feet—and is now seriously injured. Anyone without proper experience starts these activities, and there’s no one to check. Action is only taken after a fatal accident happens. pic.twitter.com/Xy5LNYRDwe

In response, local police and tourism officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the failure. They are currently reviewing safety measures enforced by adventure tourism providers in the region to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
The incident has provoked strong public outrage and intensified demands for tighter regulations and accountability within India's adventure tourism industry. Many have called for stringent enforcement of safety standards to protect tourists, especially children, engaging in high-risk recreational activities.
