Hope to take forward China, India strategic ties: Xi Jinping

New Delhi, Sept 18: Chinese President

"strategic relationship" forward.

Addressing the media here, Xi said that China and India are the world's two largest developing countries and have emerging markets. "We have common development goals, its important we deepen the alignment of our development strategies," he said.

He added that both the countries must expand their friendly contacts.

On a three-day sojourn to India, Xi said that he hopes to talk to the Indian leadership to take this "strategic relationship" forward.

The Chinese president arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday and then flew down to the national capital the same night. He will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House during the day. He flies out on Friday.
