Honour killing: Lovelorn couple murdered in Bihar
Motihari, Nov 6: In what is stated to be honour killing, a lovelorn couple was strangulated to death allegedly by the girl's father at a village in Bihar's East Champaran district, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in Barharwa village last night as the accused Rajendra Prasad strangulated his daughter Shalu (18) and her boyfriend Shatrughan Ram (19) in a fit of rage after finding the couple together at his house, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nurual Haque said.
The bodies were recovered this morning and sent for post-mortem, he said.
The accused has been arrested and charged with murder of his daughter and her boyfriend, Haque said, adding that Prasad has confessed to have committed the crime.
