Home Ministry reviews situation in Tamil Nadu
A home ministry official informed that the chiefs of the CRPF and CISF are likely to be sent to Tamil Nadu to assist the local police.
New Delhi, Dec 6: The union home ministry is in constant touch with officials in Tamil Nadu and is reviewing the law and order situation in the state.
The state of Tamil Nadu is on high alert following the death of J Jayalalithaa.
A home ministry official informed that the chiefs of the CRPF and CISF are likely to be sent to Tamil Nadu to assist the local police.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened across the state. Several forces have already been on stand by since yesterday when Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest.
The home ministry says that the CRPF and CISF chiefs are likely to be sent to TN to help assess the situation.
Earlier in the day the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Vidyasagar Rao informed the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh that the situation was under control.
The entire police force was on stand by and the situation was under control.
