Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday night at the age of 92. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to Singh, calling him a visionary statesman and an economist of unmatched stature. Kharge highlighted Singh's significant role in India's economic reforms and his enduring legacy in promoting growth and inclusivity.

Kharge expressed deep sorrow over Singh's passing, describing him as a gentle intellectual and humble soul who embodied India's aspirations. AIIMS announced Singh's death after he was admitted to the Emergency ward around 8:30 pm due to critical health conditions. An AIIMS bulletin revealed that he had been treated for age-related medical issues and experienced a sudden loss of consciousness at home on December 26.
