Phagwara (Pb), Nov 5: A Hindu outfit in Punjab today demanded a ban on sale of crackers carrying pictures of idols in the state.

Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti (ABHSS) President Deepak Bhardwaj said that the Samiti won't allow sale of crackers carrying religious pictures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

It warned cracker-making companies not to supply in markets such crackers in view of coming Deepawali.

ABHSS also asked administration to rein in sellers of such crackers so that Samiti was not forced to itself initiate action against the erring sellers.
