Himachal Pradesh Schools and Colleges Shut Till September 7 Amid Heavy Rainfall

The Himachal Pradesh government has ordered the closure of all educational institutions across the state till September 7, following continuous heavy rainfall that has triggered landslides and disrupted normal life.

Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar issued the directive on Wednesday, instructing both government and private schools, along with colleges, to remain shut until further notice. Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

"In view of the persistent heavy rainfall and the challenging conditions, all educational institutions will remain closed till September 7. The safety of children and staff is our utmost priority," the order stated.
