Himachal Pradesh Government Shakes Up Administration: 19 IAS, 14 IPS Officers Transferred

The Himachal Pradesh government has announced a major administrative reshuffle, involving the transfer of 19 IAS and 14 IPS officers, including deputy commissioners and superintendents of police in various districts.

In a significant move aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring effective governance, the Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday implemented a substantial reshuffle involving 19 IAS officers, including deputy commissioners (DCs) of eight districts, and 14 IPS officers, including superintendents of police (SPs) of six districts. This strategic decision underscores the government's commitment to fostering a dynamic and responsive administrative framework.

Key Administrative Changes

The reshuffle brought about several notable changes in the administrative landscape of Himachal Pradesh. Anupam Kashyap assumed the role of the new deputy commissioner of Shimla, while Amarjit Singh took charge as the deputy commissioner of Hamirpur. Mukesh Repaswal was appointed as the deputy commissioner of Chamba, and Apoorv Devgan was entrusted with the responsibility of leading Mandi as its deputy commissioner. Amit Kumar Sharma was designated as the deputy commissioner of Kinnaur, and Torul S Raveesh was appointed as the deputy commissioner of Kullu. Jatin Lal took over as the deputy commissioner of Una, and Hemraj Bairwa was assigned as the deputy commissioner of Kangra.

Transfers of Revenue Officers

In addition to the IAS officer reshuffle, the government also transferred approximately 50 officers belonging to the Himachal administrative and police services. Furthermore, in compliance with the directives issued by the Election Commission of India, the government transferred 144 revenue officers, including 55 tehsildars and 89 naib tehsildars.

Significant Police Reshuffles

The reshuffle also affected the police department, with several key changes being implemented. Inspector General of Police Bimal Gupta, who had been awaiting posting, was appointed as the IG State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau DIG G Sivakumar was elevated to the position of DIG of Central Range, Mandi. Soumya Sambasivan, upon her promotion to DIG, was posted as the Principal of the Police Training School in Daroh. Una Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen Thakur was transferred to serve as the SP of the State Disaster Response Force in Junga.

Additional Police Transfers

Rakesh Singh, the commandant of the fifth India Reserve Battalion in Bassi, was assigned as the SP of Una district. Monika Bhutunguru, the commandant of the first Himachal Pradesh Armed Police Battalion in Junga, was appointed as the commandant of the sixth India Reserve Battalion in Dhaulakuan. SP of CID Crime Padam Chand was transferred to serve as the SP of Hamirpur, replacing Akriti, who was designated as the commandant of the first IRBN in Bangarh. Bilaspur SP Karthikeyan Gokulachandran replaced Kullu SP Sakshi Verma, who was transferred to Mandi as its SP. Kinnaur SP Vivek was shifted to Bilaspur, while SP Law and Order police headquarters Shrishti Pandey was transferred to Kinnaur as its SP. SP of Cyber Crime, CID Rohit Malpani, was assigned as the commandant of the first HPAP in Junga.
