Himachal Pradesh election: Congress party famous for corruption, says PM

Continuing his tirade against Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh, Prime Minister Modi said that incumbent government is known for one thing, ie, corruption. PM was speaking at the second rally of the day in Dhaula Kuan.

He said, Virbhadra Singh government and Congress leaders are identified with 'corruption'.

PM levelled charges against the incumbent government, saying "Receipts (for govt schemes) were issued for 10,000 people, but in reality, beneficiaries were 5000-6000, money was released on fake receipts," he said.

Commenting on an advantage of Aadhaar card, he said, "We linked it (government schemes) with Aadhaar, started the direct transfer to bank accounts and now Rs 57,000 Crore that was being siphoned off is saved."

PM expressed confidence that Himachal voters will wipe out Congress party in this election. " There are few elections where people pre-decide whom to elect, this is such an election, Congress knows they will be wiped off," he said. "Even the public knows that the BJP govt is going to be in power."

Earlier, PM Modi addressed a rally in Fatehpur constituency of Kangra district and Daula Kaun in Sirmaur district on November 2.

He will again visit the state on November 4 and 5 for a series of poll meetings to highlight the BJP's development agenda and the corruption issue against the Congress.

Himachal Pradesh goes to polls on November 9.
