Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017: Arun Jaitley releases BJP's vision document
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday released the party's manifesto 'Vision Document' for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017.
Corruption will be the main poll issue of the BJP for the upcoming assembly elections. Main thrust will be on generation of employment by harnessing tourism potential, new tourist circuits to be developed besides developing religious circuit - Dev Bhumi Darshan, the vision document said.
The BJP's vision document for the poll-bound Himachal Pradesh proposeD that the "Gudia yojana" will be introduced to check crime against woman so as to prevent incidents like the one in Kotkhai, where a 16-year-old girl was gang-raped and brutally murdered in July.
Addressing the public at the event, Jaitley said, "One of our very experienced leaders will be the Chief Minister of the state."
"But it is a matter of strategy whether the party announces it or decides it after the elections," he said.
Several other BJP leaders of the state including JP Nadda, Prem Kumar Dhumal, Shanta Kumar among several others were also present.
Himachal Pradesh will be the second state, after Goa, with 100% VVPAT (paper trail of votes) coverage. The paper trail machines will be deployed along with EVMs in all the 7,521 polling stations, including 42 auxiliary polling stations at remote locations.
Himachal Pradesh will vote on November 9.Results for the elections will be declared on December 18 the same day Gujarat election results would also be declared.
