Himachal Pradesh: 45 dead after bus falls into river in Shimla
Around 56 passengers were en route to Tuni in Himachal Pradesh from Vikasnagar in Uttarakhand when the incident occured.
Around 45 passengers were killed after a private bus fell into the Tons River in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

According to sources, all the victims are from Dehradun. Around 56 passengers were en route to Tuni in Himachal Pradesh from Vikasnagar in Uttarakhand when the incident occurred.
The police, along with medical and rescue teams, has been mobilised from Sirmaur and Shimla districts to help in rescue and relief operations at the spot, about 190 km from Shimla. Also, NDRF Commandant with a chopper left from Dehradun to the spot where the accident took place.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand government announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh for kin of those dead, Rs 50,000 for severely injured & Rs 25,000 for injured.
