Singh however stated that he had nothing to hide. I was on the way to my daughter's wedding when I saw the CBI team. I opened the doors to my house and asked them to check what ever they wanted to, Singh said following the raid.

The raid on Singh's house raised the tempo among the BJP in Shimla which sought for his resignation. However the Congress is rallying behind Singh and says that he has the backing of all the legislators.

The Congress has decided to rake up this issue with the President of India. The Congress has accused the government of India of a witch hunt and in its petition to the President would complain that the CBI is being used as a tool by the Union Government.
